Group E: Bayern Munich (Bettorlogic rank 6) v Basle (60) (Weds, 19:45)
It is going to be very difficult for Basle to advance to the Last 16. The visitors have to win at Bayern Munich and hope Cluj can defeat Roma. Bayern are guaranteed top-spot. The host have won 9/13 home group games since 2005/06 but they have led at HT in just five of the matches. Their record improves to six wins from six when hosting teams with a Bettorlogic rank of 51+ with three W/Ws and three wins by three clear goals. Basle will be reasonably happy with their return of six points from five games so far, but they will rue their 2-1 loss at Cluj in their opener. Four of their five games have had at least three goals while they are winless in six trips to top-10 ranked sides this century, although they have drawn three of the games 1-1.

Group E: CFR Cluj (163) v Roma (14) (Weds, 19:45)
Since their first Champions League appearance in 2008/09, Cluj have drawn just one of their 11 games with two wins and eight defeats, six of which were L/L doubles. Eight of the matches have featured at least three goals as have all of their last four home fixtures. As previously stated, a draw will be enough for Roma to qualify from Group E but they are unlikely to play defensively. Since 2007/08, Roma have scored at least two goals in all of their five away group games against teams ranked outside the top-10 and they have scored at least three goals and won all of their last four.
Recommendation: +3.5 goals 3.80, Sportingbet
Group F: Marseille (16) v Chelsea (4) (Weds, 19:45)
On paper this game could have looked crucial at the start of the group phase, but all positions in Group F were concluded after Matchday 5. Chelsea have finished top while Marseille go through as the second-placed team. Chelsea are the only team in the competition with a 100% record intact, but they have never previously won all six group games. Marseille have drawn the first half of 2/4 home group matches against top-10 ranked sides as have Chelsea in 6/11 away group games.
Recommendation: No bet
Group F: Zilina (170) v Spartak Moscow (76) (Weds, 19:45)
Zilina may be the worst team to ever grace the Champions League, but they came close to pulling off a shock at Chelsea in their last game. The hosts led 1-0 at half-time before succumbing to a 2-1 defeat. Spartak Moscow began their campaign with successive wins – possibly because they had played many more games due to the Russian season – and, as such, they will be disappointed to not reach the knockout phase. The winter break has already started in Russia, so it will be tough for the players to get motivated for this one.
