Bayern Munich (Bettorlogic rank 7) v Man Utd (2)

HT outcome: Bayern Munich have an excellent home record in the knockout stages of the Champions League. The hosts have won five of their eight such games since 2004/05 and they have also led at half-time on five occasions. Further, they are unbeaten in five home fixtures against teams with a Bettorlogic rank of 1-5. Interestingly, Bayern haven’t faced an English side since they beat both Arsenal and Chelsea at home in 2004/05. Man Utd have won just five of their 11 away knockout phase matches over the same period and they have netted before the break in only four of the games.

Recommendation: Bayern Munich HT Win 3.75, Bet365/Paddy Power

Lyon (9) v Bordeaux (8)

Match outcome: Lyon have drawn nine of their 27 home matches since 2004/05 and they have also tied four of their eight home knockout games, six of which settled the -2.5 goals market. Likewise, six of the last 13 first-leg matches between clubs from the same country have been drawn as have 12 of the last 28 knockout fixtures between two teams ranked 6-15. Bordeaux are in excellent form and remain undefeated in this competition this term, but this marks their first ever quarter-final appearance.

Arsenal (5) v Barcelona (1)

First team to score: Arsenal have lost just one of their 11 home knockout fixtures since 2004/05; recording six victories and five W/Ws. Barcelona are winless in seven away Champions League matches and they have trailed at half-time on four occasions. Moreover, the visitors have conceded the opening goal in all of their last five away knockout stage fixtures and also in seven of their last nine games at top-five ranked sides.
